This rather awkward and unbalanced Percussion pistol was "home made," in that it was assembled from a genuine trade lock and part of a military barrel. It was then put together with whatever came to hand in some forest cabin or where ever. Large caliber, maybe intended for a surprise visit by a bear, this would have a kick like a horse. Dating to the 1830s or 1840s, this is about as ugly as it gets, but then
