The first Confederate infantry button is a lined "I" on plain background with border an English import marked Superior Quality on the reverse and retains an intact secure shank

The padding in the pouches behind the liner have been removed for a larger fit

The back of the buckle is marked with an ((RZM)) circle and with the code M4/77

one of which was an unfinished helmet - perhaps one of those Parish sold as scrap in late 1945 - while the other was completed and showed signs of post-war use)

The inside cloth label is still present and easily discernible: TYPE B-2

The cross guards and tang nut are nickel plated zinc alloy, and have almost all of the plating intact, with no lifting or flaking we can see.
