This is an unusual 2011 that needs cellaring

There is a noticeably finer if less muscular mouthfeel to the equally mineral-inflected medium weight flavors that retain a lovely sense of energy on the well-delineated and again

The wine needs a few more years to get out of this more reticent phase

mossy tree bark and truffles over a core of plum preserves

A beautifully well-layered nose offers up an abundance of spice and floral elements that add plenty of breadth to the mostly red berry liqueur scents

Yann Chave, Hermitage other_regions_italy This is an unusual 2011Intense butcher's shop aromas, with smoked meat and a touch of VA. Powerful but not overly full in the mouth, the tannins are still chiselled and serrated. Piercing acidity runs through it to a very long, powerful finish. It's ready now, but will age with real interest. Really fabulous, growling and energetic an Hermitage in wolf's clothing.
