Pineapples: Come On Closer Vinyl 12" stones throw "Number Song" is based offAn Italo classic with an interesting back story if there ever was one. Originally recorded in 1983 by Italo producer Roberto Ferrante, "Come On Closer" features vocals that have a surprisingly decent American accent for an Italian record. They're voiced by Douglas Roop, a soldier from Texas who was stationed at a NATO base in Naples, Ferrante's home town. It became a hit in Italy and France upon its release, and eventually made it to Chicago's WBMX
