A completely backward but superbly complex nose displays layered aromas that run to game and underbrush as well as ripe red and dark berry fruit trimmed in a bit of wood toast that give way to rich

The nose is in almost the exact same state as the straight cuvée with its reductive and floral aromas

limes and papaya

it offers plenty of toast and oak spice with cinnamon

Trapet Pere et Fils, Gevrey Chambertin Clos Prieur Vintage:2017 As complex as the PruliersMore wood than is typical for Trapet is present on the lightly herbal tea inflected aromas of red and dark cherry, earth and a hint of humus. The nicely vibrant medium weight flavors possess a sleek mouthfeel and reasonably good concentration before culminating in a noticeably warm if delicious finish. Not surprisingly, this will need a few years to develop better depth but its not so structured as to be unapproachable young.
